The long awaited new release from Michigan's Premier
Country-Rock Band
The Forbes Brothers
is finally here. Titled "The Wrong End of the Bar"
This 12 cut cd solidifies the crown of the Country Music
Kings. Already getting major airplay in the cities of
Flint, Saginaw and Bay City, The CD will be coming home
to Oakland County at one of the TWO cd release parties
scheduled for December. Released to stores and radio
north of Detroit in November, the first single from the
CD (and the Forbes Brother's mantra song) "Hip Hop
Country Rock" gets played several times each day on
Flint's B95 Country Radio. Several hundred copies of the
CD have poured out of the 4 FYE (For Your Entertainment)
stores that are currently stocking the album. Click
"Read More" below.
All songs on the new CD were written by the talented
brothers Scott and Dennis Forbes and their bandmates.
Their real-life story of being an opening band for so
many national artists, the first cut "Opening Act" will
be very familiar to many of the groups on
MichiganBands.com. Talking about how they are in the
fine print on the back of the program and barely even
being acknoledged by the nationals. Just how realistic
is that.
Full Cut list is as follows:
- 1) Opening Act
- 2) Two-Step
- 3) I've Been Traveling
- 4) Hip Hop Country Rock
- 5) Tell Me
- 6) Maybe Just Once
- 7) Don't Want to be Important
Anymore
- 8) The Wrong End of the Bar
- 9) Last Long Highway
- 10) Lovers in Dreams
- 11) The Difference
- 12) Over Again
My personal favorites on the CD
are the quick timed "I've Been Traveling", "Hip Hop
Country Rock" (which tries to explain the mentality of
the Nashville recording executives) and the
Nightmarish-If you ever get drunk and forgot what you
have done song and title cut "The Wrong End of the
Bar". Every cut has a unique style. Some seem more
roots, others more pure country, while rock music truly
has an influence in the way the songs are performed.
The sixteen page insert that comes with the CD is both
visually appealing and informative. Considering the Bar
theme of the entire CD, the acknowledgments page is
represented by scrawlings on a bathroom wall. Very
Clever indeed. Already winners of 23 Detroit Music
Awards, You can bet there are a few more on the way with
this package.
These boys really know how to rock, Country Style that
is....
